Andhra Pradesh Solar Subsidy

Andhra Pradesh Solar Subsidy

Andhra Pradesh is one of India’s leading renewable-energy states, and its government continues to support clean-energy adoption through attractive rooftop solar subsidies. With rising power costs and strong sunlight throughout the year, the Andhra Pradesh Solar Subsidy helps households reduce installation expenses and enjoy long-term energy savings.

The subsidy is offered under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, supervised in the state by New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP).

Subsidy Rates for Residential Rooftop Solar:

Under the national subsidy scheme, Andhra Pradesh homeowners can avail:

Up to 1 kW: ₹30,000 per kW
Up to 2 kW: ₹60,000 (₹30,000 × 2)
Up to 3 kW: ₹78,000 (fixed subsidy)
From 4 kW to 10 kW: ₹78,000 (no additional subsidy beyond 3 kW)

Housing societies (GHS/RWA) can also receive ₹18,000 per kW for systems up to 500 kW (individual limit of 10 kW per home).

These subsidies significantly lower the upfront cost of rooftop systems.

Solar System Cost After Subsidy:

A typical 3 kW rooftop solar system in Andhra Pradesh costs around ₹1.8 – ₹2.2 lakh.

After applying a ₹78,000 subsidy, the effective price reduces to ₹1.1 – ₹1.4 lakh.

With net-metering, homeowners can save ₹1,500–₹3,000 per month, resulting in a payback period of 4–5 years.

Conclusion:

The Andhra Pradesh Solar Subsidy makes rooftop solar an affordable and financially rewarding investment for homeowners. With generous support, quick application processes, and abundant sunshine, the state offers an ideal environment for transitioning to clean energy. Installing a rooftop solar system today ensures lower electricity bills, energy security, and decades of sustainable power. Andhra Pradesh is truly paving the way toward a brighter, greener future.
