O&M Of Solar Power Plants (Focus on Automation & Digitalisation)

Event

📅 Date: December 02, 2025

Timings: Dec 02 – 9:30 AM till 5:00 PM

🏨 Venue: Le Meridien, New Delhi

SUMMARY

● India’s solar power capacity has reached around 120 GW as of mid-2025, with expanding project size and scale over the years, resulting in an increase in the operations and maintenance (O&M) requirements of developers. With reduced tariffs and increased competition, cost efficiency has become key for developers, leading to a greater focus on improving project performance. While developers continue to have their own O&M teams deployed at project sites for performance monitoring and routine maintenance, specialised third-party O&M service providers offer a bouquet of various packages customised to developer needs. O&M has moved from just module cleaning, vegetation management, and security to also include enhanced predictive maintenance using a host of automation and digital tools. This helps developers to reduce asset and component downtime and enhance equipment life.

● As developers focus on reducing manpower costs in O&M, a wide variety of automation tools are being used to increase efficiency. Robotic cleaning solutions are widely used for cleaning solar modules, with no or very little water. Robots are also being used for vegetation management. Meanwhile, drones are being used to carry out visual inspection of solar projects. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)-enabled tools are being used to enhance predictive maintenance, automatic fault detection and rectification, generation forecasting and scheduling, as well as real-time remote monitoring and performance optimisation. As developers focus on reducing manpower costs in O&M, a wide variety of automation tools are being used to increase efficiency. ● Going forward, the role of automation and digital tools in the O&M of solar power plants is expected to grow significantly, as developer portfolios continue to expand and technologies advance.

The mission of this conference is to highlight the various opportunities and technology solutions for the solar O&M market in India. The conference will bring together solar project developers, O&M service providers, technology companies, and industry experts to share their insights on the key trends in the solar O&M space, the emerging technology advancements in this space, the increasing role of AI, and the future outlook.
