Evren has signed a 750 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC for a large hybrid renewable energy project that will combine solar power, wind energy, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The project will be developed across Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, supporting India’s transition towards a cleaner and more reliable power system.
The agreement marks a major milestone for Evren and represents one of the company’s largest renewable energy projects in India. With this addition, Evren’s total renewable energy pipeline in the country has expanded to 11 GW, including more than 3.5 GW of projects currently under construction across solar, wind, and energy storage technologies.
Once commissioned, the 750 MW project is expected to generate around 2.5 billion units of clean electricity every year. It is also projected to reduce approximately 1.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, contributing significantly to India’s climate and sustainability goals.
Commenting on the achievement, Suman Kumar, CEO of Evren, said that securing the agreement reflects the company’s strong execution capabilities and reinforces its commitment to delivering large-scale, reliable renewable energy solutions. He added that Evren is well-positioned to support customers with sustainable power while continuing to expand its presence in India’s growing clean energy market.
Backed by Brookfield, Evren focuses on the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects across India. The latest partnership with NTPC further strengthens the company’s role in accelerating the country’s renewable energy expansion and supporting its long-term net-zero ambitions.
