India Accelerating Growth in Manufacturing, Innovation and Green Energy, Says G. Kishan Reddy

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has said that India is making rapid progress in manufacturing, innovation, and green energy, with these sectors playing a crucial role in driving the country’s long-term economic growth. He emphasized that continued investments, supportive government policies, and technological advancements are helping India strengthen its industrial capabilities while moving towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

The minister highlighted that manufacturing has become a key pillar of India’s development strategy. Government initiatives aimed at boosting domestic production, expanding industrial infrastructure, and encouraging investment have strengthened sectors such as renewable energy equipment, electronics, automobiles, semiconductors, and advanced engineering. These efforts are helping India reduce import dependence while positioning the country as a global manufacturing destination.

Speaking on innovation, Reddy noted that India’s startup ecosystem and research capabilities continue to expand rapidly. Increased adoption of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, space technology, and advanced manufacturing solutions is creating new opportunities for businesses and supporting the country’s global competitiveness.

The minister also underlined the significant progress made in the renewable energy sector. India has witnessed strong growth in solar power, wind energy, battery energy storage, and green hydrogen, which are contributing to a cleaner energy mix while enhancing energy security and reducing carbon emissions. The expansion of renewable energy capacity is supporting the country’s rising electricity demand and long-term sustainability goals.

Infrastructure development has also been identified as a major factor behind India’s economic transformation. Investments in highways, railways, ports, airports, industrial corridors, digital connectivity, and power infrastructure are improving logistics, attracting investments, and strengthening the country’s manufacturing and innovation ecosystem.

According to the minister, policy reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business, encouraging domestic manufacturing, and attracting foreign investment have created a favourable environment for industrial growth. He also stressed the importance of skill development and workforce training to prepare India’s youth for emerging opportunities in manufacturing, technology, and clean energy sectors.

G. Kishan Reddy stated that the combined progress in manufacturing, innovation, and renewable energy is laying the foundation for a more self-reliant, competitive, and sustainable economy. As India continues to expand these sectors, the country is expected to strengthen its position as a global leader in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and technological innovation.
