NLC India Tenders 1,500 Acres of Land for Solar Projects in Tamil Nadu

NLC India Limited (NLCIL), on behalf of its subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), has invited bids to arrange approximately 1,500 acres of private land in Tamil Nadu for the development of upcoming solar PV projects. The tender has set September 21, 2026, as the deadline for bid submission.

Under the tender, the selected bidder will be responsible for arranging the required land through outright purchase and transferring ownership to NIRL. The land will be used for developing utility-scale solar power projects in the state.

Land Development Requirements

The selected contractor will be responsible for identifying and purchasing suitable private land, carrying out topographical surveys, and providing the necessary site-enabling facilities as specified in the tender documents.

The bidder will also have to obtain all necessary permits, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), approvals and clearances related to the land.

Each individual land parcel offered should generally have a minimum area of 500 acres and must be suitable for solar project development. Multiple land parcels can be proposed, provided that at least one parcel meets the 500-acre minimum requirement.

Connectivity and Access

The proposed land parcels must have proper access from the main road without ownership disputes or other obstructions. Where suitable access is unavailable, the successful bidder will be responsible for developing an approach road through the shortest feasible route.

The bidder will also be responsible for resolving any Right of Way (ROW) issues associated with transmission lines crossing the offered land parcels.

For grid connectivity, all proposed land parcels must be located within a 50-km radius of a State Transmission Utility (STU) substation rated at 110 kV or above.

The tender is part of NLC India’s broader renewable-energy expansion plans and is aimed at securing suitable land for the development of large-scale solar projects in Tamil Nadu.
