NVVN Seeks Large Power Buyers for Solar Supply From NTPC Plants at ₹3.00–₹3.65/kWh

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) to assess demand for solar power generated from NTPC’s operational solar projects.

Issued on August 11, 2026, the EOI targets large electricity consumers across India, including commercial and industrial (C&I) companies, DISCOMs, bulk power purchasers and eligible open-access consumers.

The initiative is designed to understand buyers’ requirements, including preferred solar capacity, contract duration, supply structure and pricing expectations. Based on the responses, NVVN may facilitate solar power procurement through short-, medium- or long-term arrangements.

Eligible participants include industries such as steel, aluminium, cement, fertilizers, sugar, paper, chemicals and petroleum refining, along with data centres, IT parks, railways, metro systems, ports, airports and other commercial establishments.

Interested buyers must have valid GSTIN and PAN details and should require at least 5 MW of solar power capacity. NVVN has indicated an ex-bus solar power price range of ₹3.00 to ₹3.65 per kWh. Depending on project and grid conditions, buyers may also benefit from 75%–100% Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) waiver provisions.

The EOI is intended only to assess market demand and does not represent a final power procurement agreement. Therefore, no EMD or Performance Bank Guarantee is required at this stage. Final tariffs, security requirements and contractual terms will be finalized through subsequent negotiations, tendering and Power Supply Agreements.

Interested applicants can obtain the EOI document through NTPC’s procurement portal and submit the required application along with their GSTIN and PAN details. Responses will remain valid for 180 days from the final submission date.

Through this initiative, NVVN aims to assess the growing demand among large consumers for reliable and competitively priced renewable electricity from operational NTPC solar projects.
