SECI Seeks Industry Inputs For Renewable Energy Programme Management Unit

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), on behalf of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has invited feedback from industry stakeholders on the proposed establishment of a dedicated Programme Management Unit (PMU) to support the implementation of renewable energy schemes.

The proposed PMU will provide support across both existing and upcoming renewable energy programmes handled by SECI. Its responsibilities are expected to cover technical assistance, financial management, IT systems, data analytics, field monitoring and coordination with state-level agencies.

The unit will also support digital platforms, communication and awareness activities, beneficiary engagement and information management. It is expected to improve coordination among State Nodal Agencies, implementing agencies, DISCOMs, financial institutions, renewable energy developers, vendors and other stakeholders.

SECI and MNRE have invited professional agencies, prospective bidders and other industry participants to provide recommendations on the proposed PMU’s structure, staffing requirements, key performance indicators, deployment model and personnel qualifications.

Stakeholders can also provide suggestions regarding the role of the Team Leader, financial management procedures and coordination between SECI, MNRE and various implementing and regulatory bodies.

The stakeholder consultation is scheduled for August 19, 2026, at SECI’s Corporate Office in East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi. Participants can present their suggestions during the meeting and submit written comments as well.

The feedback received will be considered while preparing the Scope of Work (SoW) and Request for Proposal (RFP) for selecting the agency that will operate the PMU.

The proposed unit is expected to strengthen implementation, monitoring, coordination and beneficiary support across SECI’s growing portfolio of renewable energy programmes, helping improve the delivery and management of clean-energy schemes across India.
