Hindustan Power Secures ₹1,135 Crore Financial Closure for 435 MWp Solar Project in Uttar Pradesh

Hindustan Power has achieved financial closure for its 435 MWp/300 MW solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) sanctioning ₹1,135 crore in debt financing.

The project is being developed under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). Hindustan Power was awarded the project through a competitive bidding process in 2025.

Construction work is now underway, with the project expected to add significant renewable energy capacity to Uttar Pradesh and support the state’s growing electricity demand through clean power generation.

The development is part of Hindustan Power’s broader strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio through large-scale solar projects. The company expects the project to contribute to the state’s clean-energy transition while supporting local economic activity and employment during its development.

With financial closure secured, the project can now move ahead with its planned development and execution schedule.
