The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has invited bids to lease around 20 acres of agricultural land for developing two 5 MW Agri-PV pilot solar projects in the Delhi-NCR region.
The projects are planned near Issapur and Dhansa villages in Najafgarh, Delhi, with SECI seeking a minimum of 10 acres for each project. Both private landowners and land aggregators with suitable government or private land can participate in the tender.
The selected land will be leased for a minimum period of 27 years, with the possibility of extension through mutual agreement. The land must have a clear title and should be free from legal disputes, mortgages, acquisition notices and other encumbrances.
The proposed Agri-PV projects will combine solar power generation with agricultural activities, allowing seasonal crops to be cultivated alongside solar installations. SECI has specified that the land should be level or gently sloping, non-waterlogged and accessible by road.
The sites should also have access to nearby 11 kV or higher-voltage Discom transmission infrastructure to facilitate power evacuation.
The tender is expected to be available from September 3, 2026, through SECI’s official tender section. The bidding will follow a single-stage, double-envelope process, with the annual lease rate per acre being a key factor in bid evaluation.
The initiative is aimed at demonstrating the potential of dual-use agricultural land for solar power generation, supporting renewable energy development while maintaining agricultural use.
