Alpex Solar to Inaugurate 2.2 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility in Uttar Pradesh

Alpex Solar Limited is set to inaugurate its 2.2 GW G12R TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at Kosi Kotwan in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The company disclosed the development through a filing with the National Stock Exchange on September 4, 2026.

The facility is designed to manufacture G12R TOPCon solar cells, strengthening Alpex Solar’s domestic manufacturing capabilities and supporting India’s growing demand for locally produced solar components.

The company had previously announced that the 2.2 GW facility was being developed as a greenfield project at Kosi Kotwan. It initially planned the capacity in two phases—1.4 GW followed by 800 MW—but later combined the two phases into a single 2.2 GW commissioning programme.

The inauguration is scheduled for September 16, 2026, at the Kosi Kotwan facility in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

The project marks another step toward expanding India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem and increasing the availability of advanced TOPCon solar-cell technology.
