ACME Solar Holdings Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 130 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy project with Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
The agreement was signed through ACME Solar’s wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Marigold Urja Private Limited, following the award of the project under a tender issued by REMC Limited.
Under the 25-year agreement, ACME Solar will supply renewable electricity to Northeast Frontier Railway at a fixed tariff of ₹4.35 per kWh. The tariff will remain unchanged throughout the contract period.
Power supply is scheduled to begin on February 25, 2029, which has been designated as the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date. The 25-year PPA period will start from this date.
The agreement was formally disclosed by ACME Solar to the BSE and National Stock Exchange on August 26, 2026, under the applicable SEBI listing regulations. The development follows an earlier corporate communication issued by the company in December 2025.
The 130 MW RTC project is expected to support the railway sector’s growing demand for reliable renewable electricity. RTC renewable-energy projects combine renewable generation with balancing and storage solutions to provide power more consistently throughout the day.
ACME Solar also confirmed that the transaction is not a related-party transaction. The company stated that its promoters, promoter-group entities and group companies have no financial or ownership interest in the entity that awarded the project.
The agreement marks another step toward increasing the use of reliable renewable energy in India’s railway sector and supporting the sector’s long-term clean-energy transition.
