SWELECT Energy Systems Limited has commissioned a 10 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu through its subsidiary, ESG Green Energy Private Limited, adding another operational renewable energy asset to its portfolio.
The project, which achieved commercial operation on August 24, 2026, is located at Nedumpirai Village in Cheyyar Taluk, Tiruvannamalai district.
The solar plant is connected at the 33 kV level to an existing 110/33 kV pooling substation developed by SWELECT. The facility is further connected to the Sirungattur substation operated by Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO).
Electricity generated by the project will be supplied to a group of industrial and commercial consumers under the Group Captive Power Sale model. The power will be transmitted through Tamil Nadu’s intra-state open access network, allowing renewable electricity to reach the contracted consumers.
The project supports the growing demand for clean power among commercial and industrial users in Tamil Nadu. Group captive solar projects allow businesses to increase their renewable electricity consumption while making use of the state’s existing transmission infrastructure.
SWELECT disclosed the commissioning of the project to the BSE and National Stock Exchange on August 25, 2026.
The commissioning further strengthens SWELECT Energy Systems’ renewable energy portfolio and contributes to the continued expansion of solar power generation capacity in Tamil Nadu.
