Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), through its step-down subsidiary Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A Limited (AGE26AL), has operationalised a 139 MW solar power project at Khavda in Gujarat.
The project was commercially brought into operation on September 1, 2026, following the required clearances. The latest addition further strengthens AGEL’s position in India’s large-scale renewable energy sector.
With the commissioning of the project, AGEL’s total operational renewable energy generation capacity has increased to 20,280.80 MW. The company’s operational Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity stands at 3,551 MWh.
The new solar capacity is part of AGEL’s continuing development of the Khavda renewable energy hub, where the company is building a large portfolio of solar, wind and hybrid renewable projects. Khavda has become a major centre for utility-scale renewable energy development in Gujarat.
AGEL has continued to expand its renewable portfolio through phased commissioning of projects at Khavda. The addition of the 139 MW plant further increases the amount of clean electricity that can be generated from the site and supports the company’s long-term renewable energy expansion strategy.
The project also comes alongside AGEL’s growing investment in energy storage. Its operational BESS capacity of 3,551 MWh can support the integration and management of variable renewable generation, helping improve the flexibility of its growing clean-energy portfolio.
The commissioning of the 139 MW project highlights the continued expansion of utility-scale solar power in Gujarat and contributes to India’s broader efforts to increase renewable electricity generation and reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.
