The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO) has invited bids for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an aggregated 33 kW grid-connected rooftop solar PV project at the District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Office (DVAHO) in Karimnagar.
The tender specifically requires the use of TOPCon solar modules, making the technology requirement one of the notable features of the procurement. The project will operate under a net-metering arrangement and includes a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract.
Project Across DVAHO Facilities
The 33 kW capacity is planned across multiple DVAHO-related facilities in Karimnagar. TGREDCO’s tender documents identify the project as an aggregated rooftop solar installation covering the listed consumer service connections.
The selected contractor will be responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems. The tender follows an EPC contract structure, with evaluation based on the quoted price.
TOPCon Technology Required
A key aspect of the tender is the explicit requirement for TOPCon solar modules. TGREDCO’s official tender description specifically identifies the project as an on-grid rooftop SPV plant “with TOPCON solar modules.”
The requirement is part of a broader trend in Telangana, where TGREDCO has been issuing several rooftop solar tenders specifying TOPCon technology. Recent procurements include an 11 kW rooftop project in Karimnagar, a 182 kW group of projects in Peddapalli district, and a much larger 46.705 MW aggregated rooftop programme covering 9,937 schools across Telangana.
Five-Year Maintenance Included
The Karimnagar project includes a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract (CMC). This means the successful contractor will remain responsible for maintaining the installed rooftop systems after commissioning.
The tender lists the project completion period as two months. Bidders are required to submit their proposals through Telangana’s e-procurement platform.
Tender Eligibility
TGREDCO has required bidders to submit evidence of at least 33 kW cumulative rooftop solar installation experience, along with turnover documentation, valid TGREDCO vendor registration, PAN and GST registration. The tender also requires an EMD of ₹43,000 and a process fee of ₹11,800.
The tender was issued in August 2026. The official tender document lists August 27, 2026, at noon as the original bid-submission deadline.
Why the Tender Is Notable
Although the project is relatively small at 33 kW, its explicit TOPCon specification makes it noteworthy. Rather than leaving the module technology completely open, TGREDCO has identified TOPCon modules directly in the project scope.
The procurement also forms part of Telangana’s wider push toward rooftop solar deployment. TGREDCO has issued several other 2026 tenders using TOPCon modules, indicating that the technology is increasingly being incorporated into government and institutional rooftop solar projects across the state.
