Waaree Renewable Technologies Secures LOA for 291 MWp Solar Project with 280 MWh BESS

Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL), a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from an Indian thermal power generation company for the development of a large-scale solar and battery storage project.

Under the order, WRTL will undertake Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) work for a 291 MWp ground-mounted solar PV project integrated with a 280 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

According to the company’s regulatory filing dated August 28, 2026, the project is a domestic commercial order and is scheduled for completion during FY 2027–28.

The project will combine utility-scale solar generation with battery storage, enabling renewable electricity to be stored and utilised more effectively. The addition of BESS will also support the integration of renewable power into India’s evolving electricity infrastructure.

WRTL said the project is not a related-party transaction, and neither the company’s promoters nor its group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.

The order strengthens Waaree Renewable Technologies’ presence in India’s growing solar-plus-storage market and highlights the increasing role of battery energy storage in supporting large-scale renewable energy projects.
